Dann Karlson

Dann Karlson is the Deputy Director of the International Affairs Division for the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) under the U.S. Department of the Treasury.  In this position he is responsible for managing international issues related to alcoholic beverages and collaborating with foreign and domestic stakeholders to facilitate market access for beer, wine, and distilled spirits.
Dann is an accomplished government affairs professional with over 25 years of experience in international and federal relations. He served the majority of his career with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  Among his many assignments, Dann was an officer in the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps, one of the nation’s 8 uniformed services.  Dann started his Federal service as a Geographer with the U.S. Census Bureau soon after graduating with his degree in geography from the University at Buffalo

Dann lives in Gambrills, Maryland with his incredible wife (a Korean adoptee) and he is the proud father of two adopted children from Korea.  ASIA Families has been a wonderful part of his family's post-adoption journey and he can think of no better way to serve this incredible organization than as a Board Member. 

When Dann’s not running his kids around from one activity to the next, he enjoys cycling, playing the winter sport of curling, traveling the world, and rooting for his beloved Buffalo sports teams. GO BILLS! GO SABRES!
