Role: Social Media Intern
Format: Primarily remote. Interns are expected to attend ASIA Families events (Maryland and Northern Virginia region) approximately once per month to capture content. Event schedules will be shared in advance
Term Length: 6 months
Estimated Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week
Compensation: $500 total stipend for the full 6-month term
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Social Media Intern to support storytelling and digital engagement for our community. This is an opportunity designed for individuals interested in gaining experience in social media, nonprofit work, and cultural programming.
Your work will help strengthen connections within the Korean adoptee and extended community.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Create and publish 2–4 pieces of social media content per week (photos, videos, captions, stories) highlighting ASIA Families events, programs, and community experiences
Share personal reflections or storytelling (optional but encouraged)
Collaborate on ideas for engaging and meaningful content
Participate in occasional check-ins and training sessions
Submit an end-of-term report summarizing your accomplishments and suggestions for future content or improvements
WHO THIS IS FOR
Students or young professionals interested in social media, marketing, or nonprofit work
Individuals interested in Korean adoption, culture, or community-building (personal connection welcomed but not required)
Creative, self-motivated individuals who enjoy storytelling
REQUIREMENTS
Access to a phone, computer, or tablet with internet
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and basic content creation tools (Canva, CapCut, etc.)
Maintain a professional, respectful, and accurate voice in all content
NOTE
This internship is focused on learning and community engagement. We aim to provide a supportive environment where interns can grow creatively and professionally.
INTERNSHIP DURATION
The ASIA Families Social Media Intern will serve a six-month term, beginning in the summer of 2026.
