Job Summary:

The Program Manager will play a critical leadership role in developing, managing, and evaluating the programs of ASIA Families, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the international adoption community. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager will oversee the planning and implementation of key initiatives—including Korea Tours, Korean Culture School, Camp Rice, and related events—ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. This position requires a collaborative leader skilled in project management, stakeholder engagement, team building, and program evaluation. The Program Manager will be responsible for fostering meaningful community connections, managing resources effectively, and delivering impactful programs that meet the evolving needs of adoptees, their families, and the broader adoption community.

Major Responsibilities

- Program Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to design, develop, and evolve program strategies that address the needs of our target audience and further our organizational goals.

- Project Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of programs (Korea Tours, Camp Rice, Korean Culture School, and other events), from conceptualization to implementation and assessment, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

- Resource Allocation: Strategically oversee and manage program budgets, personnel, and materials, ensuring fiscal responsibility, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational priorities.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, board members, volunteers, and community members to ensure their active involvement and support in program activities.

- Team Leadership: build and lead a team of volunteers and interns. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and interns, while providing guidance, mentorship, and clear direction to achieve program objectives. Ensure that volunteers meet and maintain annual training requirements in compliance with organizational policies and standards. Foster a collaborative, supportive team environment, empowering volunteers and staff to contribute effectively to program success.

- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess program outcomes, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.

- Reporting and Communication: Regularly report on program progress to the executive team, donors, and other relevant stakeholders, using data-driven insights to demonstrate the impact of our initiatives.

- Adaptation and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging needs within the community to adapt and innovate programs as necessary.

- Advocacy and Outreach: Work closely with the communications team to promote programs, raise awareness, and engage the public through various channels including social media, events, and media relations.

- Collaboration: Collaborate with the leadership team within the organization to ensure alignment of programs with fundraising, communications, and other organizational efforts.

Knowledge/Skills:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Social Work, Public Health, Education, Psychology, Business Management, or other relevant fields.

- Experience (2 + years) in program management, preferably within the non-profit sector.

- Strong understanding of social and community issues in international adoption.

- Korean language skills are preferred.

- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Ability to work with children, teens, parents, and other program participants.

- Effective leadership and team management abilities, with experience in building and guiding teams.

- Familiarity with elements of budget planning and analysis.

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messagesfor different audiences.

- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making.

- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace a dynamic work environment.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (ZOOM, MS Teams, and Survey Monkey).

- A valid passport is required.

Special Mental or Physical Demands:

- Position is primarily remote, with approximately 30% of time required onsite for program preparation, site visits, and in-person events.

- Ability to walk for extended periods during program events and site visits.

- Ability to lift to perform light lifting (up to 20 pounds) for arranging event materials and equipment.

- Close and distance vision adequate to read and review program documents, reports, and communication materials.

- International travel, national travel, and travel planning are required.

- Evening and weekend work as required, such as committee calls and events.

- Work week includes 20 hours per week/Flexible hours.
