ASIA Families Executive Director Grace Song meets with Ambassador Kang Kyung‑wha

On October 24, 2025, ASIA Families Executive Director Grace Song was invited to the welcome reception for newly-appointed Ambassador Kang Kyung‑wha at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Kang, a distinguished career diplomat, served as South Korea’s first female Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2017 to 2021 and held senior leadership roles at the United Nations before assuming her ambassadorial role in the United States.

During the reception, Ambassador Kang expressed an interest in supporting issues affecting Korean adoptees, including the Adoptee Citizenship Act.
